James was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Terry Parker Sr. High School in 2004. He began his undergraduate studies at Tallahassee Community College and was the news editor of the student newspaper, the Talon. He received an Associate in Arts Degree for General Studies in December 2013. In January 2014, James transferred to Florida State University where he majored in Interdisciplinary Social Science with concentrations in political science, geography and public administration. He was vice president of the Residence Hall Counsel and a member of the World Affairs Program. He worked seasonally at the campus bookstore and interned at the Florida State Capitol. James graduated from FSU in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Social Science. He is a member of the FSU Alumni Association and a supporter of the FSU C.A.R.E. programs. 

After graduating from FSU, James began working for a housing development company in Panama City Beach, Florida. He later accepted a position with the United States Census Bureau to work on the 2010 Census in Tallahassee.  James reenrolled at FSU to study philosophy and prepare for law school. In 2011, James enrolled at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. He was one of a handful of legacy students because his mother, Carol M. Galloway, Esquire, graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2001. James excelled in international law courses and studied abroad in Saigon, Vietnam. He also represented other law students in the Student Bar Association. He interned at James Krause, P.A. during his 3L year where he helped with legal research for federal contracts cases. James graduated from law school in May 2013 and began working at the Law Offices of Carol M. Galloway, P.A. as a bankruptcy clerk. He was hired as an associate attorney in April 2014. 

On his first day as a licensed attorney, James began accepting clients through the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. Most of his clients needed assistance with immigration paperwork, so James began studying the immigration laws. He successfully assisted several clients complete the naturalization process and attended there Oath of Allegiance Ceremonies where they became U.S. Citizens. In 2015, James started the Immigration Law Division at the Law Offices of Carol M. Galloway, P.A. where he handled the firm's immigration cases. In additional to naturalization, James helped clients petition for immigrant visas, visa extensions, applications to adjustment of status, petitions to remove conditions on residence, applications to replace permanent resident card, fiancée & fiancé visas and asylum.  


In July 2017, James established the Galloway Law Firm of Ponte Vedra Beach, P.L.L.C. and expanded his areas of practice beyond family based immigration. James currently handles employment sponsored immigration cases, including: EB-5 Investor Visas, L-1A Intercompany Executive and Manager, EB-1 Extraordinary Ability Visas, H1-B and EB-3 Skilled Workers. James also represents his clients with family law matters, including: adoption by stepparent, dissolution of marriage, uncontested divorces, supplemental petitions to modify timesharing, alimony and child support, enhanced life estates, warranty deeds, wills, advance healthcare directives, and powers of attorney. Lastly, James handles civil litigation matters regarding civil rights, personal injury, land use development and contracts.  

James is a member of the Florida Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is an honorary, alumni initiate in the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and the legal adviser for the Eta Psi Chapter at the University of Central Florida. James sponsors the local competitive video game community. His hobbies include computers, health sciences, and socializing with friends in Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach. James enjoys reading and writing.
