
James Austin Galloway is a lifelong Northeast Floridian, attorney, business owner, husband, and father who is deeply committed to the future of St. Johns County.
Raised in nearby Jacksonville, James understands the values, traditions, and challenges facing St. Johns County. He attended Florida State University and later earned his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, beginning his career in Jacksonville serving local families and businesses.
In 2017, James founded the Galloway Law Firm of Ponte Vedra Beach, PLLC, and has successfully built and operated his own business in St. Johns County ever since. Through his work, he has represented individuals, families, and businesses in matters involving contracts, land use, and civil issues, gaining firsthand experience in accountability, sound judgment, and protecting the interests of those he serves.
James moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 2019, where he purchased his first home and put down roots in the community he now seeks to represent. He has been actively involved in his neighborhood, serving on the board of Summer House in Old Ponte Vedra Condominium Association, Inc. for four years, including three years as president. In that role, he has managed association budgets, overseen financial planning, addressed community concerns, and ensured board actions reflect long-term impacts and the preservation of quality of life.
James brings a professional, disciplined, and results-driven approach to leadership. As a business owner, he understands the importance of accountability, high standards, and making informed decisions. As County Commissioner, James will work collaboratively with constitutional officers, residents, and local businesses to deliver practical solutions and ensure actions are taken thoughtfully and with the community in mind.
James and his wife, a physician, are raising their son in St. Johns County and are deeply invested in its future. As a fifth-generation Floridian, he believes in preserving what makes this community special while ensuring choices are handled carefully and responsibly for the next generation. He is committed to protecting conservation areas, supporting local businesses, honoring veterans, maintaining affordability, and upholding the family values that make St. Johns County such a desirable place to live.
James is running for County Commissioner to bring steady, thoughtful leadership to the challenges facing our community. He is focused on professionalism, accountability, and making sure each decision is handled the right way to protect the quality-of-life residents value.
